San Antonio Spurs big man David Lee can breathe a sigh of relief about his injured left knee.

What was originally believed to be a partially torn patellar tendon has now been downgraded to just a sprained patellar tendon, Lee's agent, Mark Bartelstein, told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

Lee won't need to go under the knife to repair the damage, and should recover in roughly six weeks' time.

The injury occurred during Game 3 of the Western Conference finals against the Golden State Warriors following an awkward landing on a layup attempt. Lee needed assistance leaving the floor, and was eventually taken to the locker room in a wheelchair.

He finished the postseason averaging 4.1 points and 3.8 rebounds on 52.1 percent shooting from the field as his Spurs were eliminated by the Warriors in a clean sweep.

The 34-year-old forward has a player option of just $1.6 million for the 2017-18 campaign. Should he turn that down, Lee will become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
