Despite the dominance he's enjoyed from the moment he set foot on an NFL field, Von Miller has had to deal with his share of questions regarding passion for football.

The Denver Broncos superstar has a unique personality, to be sure. But that doesn't take away from his pursuit of greatness.

Looking to follow in the footsteps of Broncos general manager John Elway, Miller wants to be considered among the best players to have played the game.

"I don't have any control over that, what people say, what people think," Miller said, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN. "But I want to be the best player in the National Football League. That's what I go out there to be every time I play.

" … Over time, my play and the type of person I am will speak more to that. Maybe when I'm done, after playing 17 years or whatever, we can revisit this and see. I want to be the best player, no question. I want to be a GOAT-type (greatest of all time) player, like the guy upstairs."

The GOAT title always presents an argument that will never be settled. After an incredible start to his pro career, though, the five-time Pro Bowler is certainly on the right track.

Miller will enter his seventh season this fall having recorded 73.5 sacks across his first 88 games. Among the most impressive of his many accomplishments to this point was taking his game to an even higher level en route to a Super Bowl 50 win, where he came away with the game's MVP honors.

His near-unstoppable presence on the edge will be key for the Broncos' chances of getting back to the playoffs and having the opportunity to chase down another Lombardi Trophy after a frustrating 2016 season.
