Which new NFC East receiver is Norman most likely to antagonize?

Before a single down was even played, Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman lit the NFC East aflame ahead of the upcoming season, throwing barbs at Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and New York Giants dynamo Odell Beckham Jr.

Norman engaged in on-field fights with both players over the past two seasons, and made it clear he plans to attack them during their divisional clashes this winter.

The Redskins' standout called both players out for pretending to be tougher than they are during an interview with Bleacher Report's Tyler Dunne, then announced the NFC East would feature "bad blood" this year.

Norman is already intent on going at Bryant and Beckham, and we determine which new NFC East wide receiver he will try to antagonize in 2017.

Torrey Smith, Eagles

Torrey Smith is looking to revitalize his career with the Eagles, and while many believe that his teammate, Alshon Jeffery, will get the majority of snaps against Norman, that isn't set in stone. Norman didn't leave his side of the field when Antonio Brown roasted his cornerback partner, Bashaud Breeland, during Week 1 last year, and it's likely he'll face numerous Eagles receivers.

Smith's best attribute at this juncture of his career is his ability to draw pass-interference calls downfield, and it's possible that he could bait Norman into a tantrum with some savvy moves. However, it seems unlikely that Smith would respond to Norman baiting him, and he'll take a number of snaps against Breeland or a rotation of slot corners.

Brandon Marshall, Giants

Brandon Marshall was lauded by Giants head coach Ben McAdoo for his maturity, and some believe he's expected to mentor Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard, and help them stay away from extracurricular outbursts. Marshall has come a long way to shed his prior reputation as a loose cannon on the field, but Norman may be the player to cause him to revert to his old temperament.

Marshall invites contact and has made a career out of overwhelming smaller, scrappier defensive backs, leaving them in the dirt as he ends up in the end zone. In this regard, Norman's exactly the type of cornerback that will try to attack him if Marshall tries to overpower him, especially in red-zone scenarios. Many expect Beckham to exclusively face off against Norman, but Marshall may also get some snaps against the Redskins' top corner.

In any event, both Giants-Redskins games are appointment viewing.

Alshon Jeffery, Eagles

Jeffery is expected to carry the Philadelphia Eagles' passing game and provide Carson Wentz with a legitimate No. 1 option after the quarterback was bereft of viable targets during his rookie year. Now 27 years old and fresh off a change of scenery, it seems unlikely that Jeffery is looking to pick a fight.

However, Jeffery's already been in a fight during his professional career, squaring off against New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler during a joint practice session in August 2016. It seems eminently possible he won't back down from another standout, scrappy corner like Norman.

Although Jeffery doesn't have any history with Norman, the cornerback is already mentally preparing for an upcoming fight.

"Alshon is going to be with us this year. He's a big guy. He uses his body. And I enjoy going against big guys because they think they can get physical with me," Norman said. "They think that. That's quite the contrary."

If Jeffery squares off against Norman, don't be entirely surprised.
