Michigan's Wagner passes on NBA draft; Wilson turning pro

Thomas Joseph-USA TODAY Sports

Michigan received both good and bad news Wednesday.

Wolverines forward Moritz Wagner is returning to school for his junior season, the team announced Wednesday, but the same can't be said for forward D.J. Wilson.

Unlike Wagner, Wilson will sign with an agent and stay in the NBA draft, the program revealed.

Wagner, a 6-foot-11 forward, averaged more than 12 points per game last season, and along with Wilson was a catalyst in the Wolverines' Cinderella run as they won the Big Ten tournament title. Wilson, meanwhile, averaged 11 points per contest and may have a good reason for going pro.

The pair helped Michigan all the way to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament, where the Wolverines bowed out to Oregon.
