Here is a look at the Squad Up daily MLB fantasy picture for the five-game slate beginning at 12:35 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 24:

Hitter Stacks

  • Minnesota Twins at Baltimore Orioles (RHP Chris Tillman): The Twins have the best weighted on-base average against their opposing starting pitcher's handedness (.341 vs. RHPs) of the 10 teams on the early slate. Build around piping-hot slugger 3B Miguel Sano, who has failed to reach base in just three games this season.

3-player stack: 3B Sano (63K), OF Max Kepler (52K), 2B Jorge Polanco (42K)

  • Cincinnati Reds at Cleveland Indians (RHP Trevor Bauer): The Reds rank ninth with a .333 wOBA vs. RHPs -- and without the benefit of a designated hitter in the starting lineup. Bauer is giving up a .347 wOBA to opposing right-handed batters and a .391 clip to lefties. Lefties own a slugging percentage of .605 against him.

3-player stack: SS Zack Cozart (46K), 1B Joey Votto (60K), OF Adam Duvall (46K)

  • Milwaukee Brewers vs. Toronto Blue Jays (RHP Marcus Stroman): The Brewers have a .334 wOBA vs. RHPs and a compact home ballpark conducive to offensive explosions. Stroman has allowed just two earned runs in his last 17 2/3 innings of work. He has also pitched 6 1/3 or fewer innings in six of nine starts, likely leaving the bullpen exposed to the Brewers' bats.

3-player stack: 1B Eric Thames (65K), OF Ryan Braun (58K), 2B Jonathan Villar (54K)

Pitcher Breakdown

  • TARGET - RHP Marcus Stroman (61K), Blue Jays (at Brewers): Stroman doesn't need to pitch deep to still be the best play on the slate. He has had only two starts this season where he allowed more than two earned runs. He threw a complete game with only two earned runs when he took on the Brewers in Toronto, April 12.
  • BARGAIN - RHP Sonny Gray (45K), Athletics (vs. Marlins): Gray is coming off back-to-back quality starts versus the Boston Red Sox and at the Texas Rangers. He'll look to carry the momentum into a rare tilt with the visiting Marlins, who rank 25th with a .301 wOBA vs. RHPs. Though they'll have a DH in the lineup, it likely just means more PAs for struggling OF Ichiro Suzuki.
  • FADE - RHP Trevor Bauer (65K), Indians (vs. Reds): Bauer has struck out 10.7 batters per nine inning in his eight starts, but a 2.0 HR/9 kills his floor. The real kicker is a Cleveland defense collectively ranked 26th in Ultimate Zone Rating. Bauer's defense can't corral balls hit into the bleachers, but it's not like they've been much of a help with balls in play, either. It helps to explain Bauer's 6.65 ERA relative to a 4.64 FIP.
  • CONTRARIAN - LHP Jose Quintana (75K), White Sox (at Diamondbacks): There are both pros and cons to rostering Quintana, Wednesday. Pros: he doesn't have to worry about facing a DH, and the D-Backs rank 25th with a .293 wOBA vs. LHPs. Cons: Chase Field is a hard place to pitch, and Quintana's best pitch -- his curveball -- won't break quite as much in the desert altitude. He has a 3.85 FIP on the season.

Bargain Plays

  • OF Keon Broxton (43K), Brewers (vs. Blue Jays): Since April 21, Broxton has slashed .337/.388/.558, including eight stolen bases. While his hot streak has been largely fueled by a ridiculous and unsustainable .527 BABIP, there's no shame in riding the hot bat, especially when he remains this cheap. Though he hits seventh, Broxton will still see plenty of PAs by virtue of playing in the third-highest-scoring offense.
  • C Yan Gomes (39K), Indians (vs. Reds): The talent at catcher is extremely thin on the early slate. You may be better off opting for Gomes, who has a career-high .346 OBP so far this season. He gets to face RHP Lisalverto Bonilla, who has a 6.38 ERA through 18 1/3 innings in his first big-league action since 2014.
  • 2B Dee Gordon (38K), Marlins (at Athletics): A subdued .319 OBP and (as expected) limited power has kept Gordon's price in check all season. His greatest tool is still his base-stealing ability; he's 13-for-15 on attempts this season. It will work in his favor against the Athletics. Base runners have a success rate of 81.8 percent against C Stephen Vogt this season.

Top Fades

  • OF Jake Lamb (46K), Diamondbacks (vs. White Sox): After a strong opening month of the season, Lamb has elevated his game to an even higher level, slashing .297/.438/.656 with 10 of his 19 hits going for extra-bases in May. Unfortunately, none of the production has come against lefties. He has hit just .063 against southpaws since May 1. Lamb has a career .252 wOBA against lefties for his career.
  • OF Billy Hamilton (38K), Reds (at Indians): Hamilton's .317 wOBA vs. RHPs is just a tick below league average (.321), but we all know it's his immaculate speed which makes him a game-changer. Unfortunately for Hamilton, Cleveland catcher Yan Gomes has thrown out 12 of 21 would-be base-stealers (including Hamilton), the best rate in the league.
  • C Russell Martin (48K), Blue Jays (at Brewers): Martin gathered a hit in each of his three games since coming back from the disabled list, but while he has a well-above average .360 wOBA vs. LHPs, it drops to just .305 vs. righties. He has been hitting sixth or lower in the order, limiting quality RBI opportunities. Martin is a big name but doesn't have much upside.

Contrarian Plays

  • 3B Travis Shaw (51K), Brewers (vs. Blue Jays): Eric Thames has been one of the breakout players of the year. With only one spot for a corner infielder, expect those interested in the Brewers' bats to lean toward Thames. Shaw has a .367 wOBA vs. RHPs.
  • OF Seth Smith (57K), Orioles (vs. Twins): Smith is the most expensive Orioles outfielder, ahead of reigning home run champ OF Mark Trumbo and five-time All-Star OF Adam Jones. He might not have the name recognition, but Smith has more than carried his weight. In 98 PAs against RHPs while leading off, Smith has slashed .294/.378/.471.
  • SS Nick Ahmed (43K), Diamondbacks (vs. White Sox): With an average of just 6.7 fantasy points per game on Squad Up and a .305 wOBA on the season, Ahmed doesn't seem like an inspired choice. However, the infielder has made 11 plate appearances out of the two hole when Arizona has faced a left-handed starter.
