The Orlando Magic's front office is slowly coming together.

After hiring Toronto Raptors general manager Jeff Weltman to be their president of basketball operations, the Magic now have their sights set on Milwaukee Bucks GM John Hammond, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.

Hammond signed a one-year extension last summer with the understanding that he'd eventually move into a consultant role and hand the Bucks over to assistant general manager Justin Zanik.

It's no surprise that Weltman might try to recruit Hammond given their history. Weltman worked as Hammond's assistant for five seasons between 2008 and 2013 before taking a job with the Raptors. That pairing won Executive of the Year in 2010 for its role in helping the Bucks return to the postseason.

Hammond's most heralded move is the selection of Giannis Antetokounmpo with the No. 15 pick in 2013. The Bucks signed the Greek international to a four-year extension earlier this season. Otherwise, Hammond holds a 315-407 record over his nine-year tenure in Milwaukee.
