Browns owner 'highly confident' turnaround will begin this year

For a team coming off a one-win season, the Cleveland Browns certainly are feeling good about themselves.

The Browns avoided the stain of a winless season by scoring a victory in Week 16 last year. Then, in the first round of this year's draft, the club added potential difference-makers in No. 1 overall pick Myles Garrett, safety Jabrill Peppers, and tight end David Njoku.

With a youthful roster and a player-friendly head coach in Hue Jackson, the Browns believe they're on their way.

"The difference between this year and last year in terms of feeling in the building is noticeably different," owner Jimmy Haslam said Monday at a charity golf tournament, according to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal.

"We were able to obviously bring in some top-flight talent during the offseason, have what we believe to be a very successful draft and I'm highly confident that this will be the year when the Browns begin to turn around and perform at the level they should. I'm highly, highly confident we got the right guy to lead the ship, and that's head coach Hue Jackson."

The Browns may be armed with more talent, but they still face a steep climb back to respectability in a division with superior competition.
