Alabama coaching legend Gene Stallings suffered a slight stroke earlier this week and has been hospitalized in Montgomery, Ala. as a result.

"I know I wasn't feeling good around 12 o'clock," the 82-year-old told Rainer Sabin of AL.com. "Bottom line is I'm not supposed to do anything for five, six weeks.

Despite the fact he wasn't feeling well around noon on Thursday, Stallings attended the Jimmy Rane Foundation golf tournament dinner, introducing one of his former players, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney.

After his condition deteriorated following the function, Stallings decided to head to hospital to receive medical attention.

Stallings coached Alabama from 1990-96, winning the 1992 national championship and posting a total record of 70-16-1.
