Tuberville: Lubbock 'looked like Iraq' while with Texas Tech

Tommy Tuberville had some puzzling comments about one of his former head coaching stops.

While making an appearance on the Rick & Bubba radio show Wednesday, Tuberville commented on his transition from Auburn to Texas Tech.

"You run me off at Auburn and you ship me to Lubbock, Texas," Tuberville said, according to Brandon Marcello of Auburn Undercover. "I’m going to tell you what, that’s like going to Siberia. Somebody asked me, ‘What’s Lubbock look like?’ It looked like Iraq."

While Tuberville may not have liked his surroundings, he was quick to praise the people.

"Well, I love those people out there," Tuberville said.

Tuberville coached the Red Raiders from 2010-2012 after spending 10 years at Auburn. More recently, he coached Cincinnati for four seasons before resigning after the 2016 campaign.
