Plouffe changing walk-up music to honor Chris Cornell

Expect to hear some Soundgarden, Audioslave, or even Temple of the Dog when Oakland Athletics third baseman Trevor Plouffe comes to the plate Thursday at the Coliseum.

Chris Cornell - the lead singer of all three bands - committed suicide Thursday morning in his hotel room while on tour in Detroit, the medical examiner told The Associated Press.

As a way of honoring one of his musical idols, Plouffe will change his walk-up music.

The Athletics welcome the Boston Red Sox for a four-game set beginning Thursday.
