Dr. Bennet Omalu, who inspired the 2015 Will Smith film "Concussion," praised Gisele Bundchen after she revealed Tuesday that her husband, Tom Brady, suffered a concussion in 2016.

"I believe it is something angelic to speak up," Omalu told TMZ. "She's an angel. An angel of truth and an angel of love. ... The truth will always prevail. We should not be afraid of the truth because of the inconvenience of the truth. But when we embrace the truth, just like Gisele has done, the truth is empowering, is enlightening, and is vindicating. ... So, (Gisele) is my hero."

The NFL said there are no records of Brady sustaining a concussion or a head injury last season. However, neither Brady or the New England Patriots have commented on Bundchen's claim.

The 39-year-old quarterback hasn't been listed on the injury report with a concussion dating back to 2004, when data first became available.
