Michigan State cornerback Tyson Smith made a startling announcement on Twitter early Thursday morning, revealing he suffered a stroke last year.

Smith didn't say when he suffered the stroke, but he did miss the final three games of last season with an undisclosed injury. The junior was also held out of the Spartans' spring game April 1.
It's unclear whether he'll play during the 2017 season, but the fact he's able to, as he said, "walk, talk, and run" after such a serious medical incident is certainly positive news.
