Report: United joins Chelsea in pursuit of Roma's Nainggolan

Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has apparently been added to Manchester United's summer shopping list.

The Belgian international has previously been linked with Chelsea, but United is also believed to be in pursuit and is eager to beat its Premier League rival to Nainggolan's signature, sources revealed to Sky Sports.

Although interest in procuring Nainggolan's services has not progressed to a point where an offer has been submitted, United could be forced to pay a transfer in excess of £34 million, a figure Chelsea reportedly offered Roma last year.

Nainggolan confirmed Chelsea's interest earlier this season when he revealed he had a discussion with manager Antonio Conte, saying, "they were really interested and wanted me."

The 29-year-old has enjoyed his best statistical season since his arrival at Roma from Cagliari in 2014, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in 35 appearances.

But a change of scenery could be on the horizon due to interest from Premier League clubs and the success Belgians have enjoyed in England in recent years.

"I watch the Premier League a lot. A lot of my international teammates play there. I think it's the best league in the world. When the transfer market opens, we'll talk about it again."
