Swanson calls for 2nd shot at new featherweight champ Holloway

Max Holloway has barely been champion for a minute and the challengers are already coming out of the woodwork.

The 25-year-old Hawaiian finished Jose Aldo in thrilling fashion on Saturday at UFC 212 to win the undisputed featherweight title and he vowed to defend it against all comers. First up to bat was veteran Cub Swanson, who was submitted by Holloway when they fought back in April 2015. "Killer Cub" took to Twitter shortly after the main event with a straightforward request for a rematch:

Swanson has won four straight, including a 2016 Fight of the Year candidate against Doo Ho Choi last December that served as a reminder of why he's been a top-10 featherweight contender for years. The 33-year-old Swanson expanded on his challenge while appearing as an analyst on the FOX Sports 1 post-fight show.

"(Fellow contender) Frankie Edgar is awesome," Swanson said, per MMA Fighting's Shaun Al-Shatti. "The only thing is, he's had how many title fights? How many chances? My whole career, I've been with the company 11 years now, I've never fought for a title fight.

"I've been right there. I've been promised. I've had it taken away. I think it's the most exciting fight. It makes the most sense. Please give it to me."
