Mein vs. Muhammad on tap for UFC 213
Jordan Mein is Las Vegas bound.
"Young Gun" will lock horns with Belal Muhammad in a welterweight bout at the T-Mobile Arena on July 8 at UFC 213, the promotion confirmed Thursday. The 27-year-old ended a 16-month retirement in December at UFC 206, where he fell to newcomer Emil Meek by unanimous decision in the main card opener. Mein holds a UFC record of 3-3, and heads to Nevada on a two-fight skid.
After going 9-0 to start his career, Muhammad has alternated wins and losses over four fights in the Octagon. "Remember The Name" was last seen rebounding from a knockout loss to Vicente Luque with a unanimous decision win over Randy Brown at UFC 208 in February.
The July card will be headlined by a rematch between women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko, with Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker clashing for an interim middleweight title in the co-main event.
