Report: Thompson Jr. returning to Oregon State for junior season

Oregon State will get a prolific scorer back next season, as a source told ESPN's Jeff Goodman that Stephen Thompson Jr. is withdrawing from the NBA draft and will return for his junior campaign.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pounder poured in 16.3 points per contest for the Beavers last season while chipping in 4.3 rebounds and three assists.

Following a season-ending injury to leading scorer Tres Tinkle, Thompson stepped up to shoulder the load for a disappointing Oregon State team. With both players back in the fold for 2017-18, the Beavers are set to improve on a terrible 5-27 mark, worst of any major-conference team in the country.
