Report: Indiana standout Johnson withdraws from NBA draft

Mike Granse-USA TODAY Sports

After losing three of its top four scorers to the NBA, Indiana finally got some good news Tuesday, as a source told Jon Rothstein of Fan Rag Sports that Robert Johnson has withdrawn from the 2017 draft and will return for his senior season.

Johnson was second on the team in scoring last season at 12.8 points per game, while also chipping in 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

His return will be massive for new coach Archie Miller, as the Hoosiers are losing 40.7 points per game with the NBA departures of James Blackmon Jr., Thomas Bryant, and OG Anunoby.

With that talent now gone, Johnson should be the No. 1 option on offense for Indiana, and could considerably help his draft stock with a strong season.
