Harper in Nationals' lineup as he appeals 4-game suspension

Patrick McDermott / USA TODAY Sports

Bryce Harper will be in the Washington Nationals' lineup Tuesday night against the San Francisco Giants as he appeals his four-game suspension stemming from a benches-clearing brawl on Monday.

Harper was drilled in the leg by Giants reliever Hunter Strickland in the eighth inning and charged the mound. Strickland was suspended six games for his role after Major League Baseball deemed that he intentionally hit Harper. Both players will be available for Tuesday's game, however, as both players are appealing their bans.

With Harper playing right field and batting third against the Giants, there's a possibility that the former National League MVP could face Strickland once again.

The two teams wrap up the three-game series Wednesday night.
