St-Pierre still wants Bisping fight

Georges St-Pierre was as stunned as UFC fans by president Dana White's decision to pull the plug on his middleweight title fight with Michael Bisping.

White announced the cancellation Wednesday on FOX Sports Australia, citing a desire to hold the event earlier than St-Pierre would like as the cause.

"I want to fight Bisping and I think Bisping wants to fight me," St-Pierre told Ariel Helwani of MMAfighting.com. "I just learned the news. I don't know what to say. It might be an emotional response by Dana or maybe it's to put pressure on me."

White also announced Yoel Romero will "get the next shot" at Bisping, but the fight and the cancellation of the St-Pierre bout have yet to be finalized.

"In this sport, among fighters, when one fighter gets an opportunity, it always leaves fighters unhappy than happy," St-Pierre said, referring to Romero's disappointment with initially being passed over. "It's the nature of a one-man sport. I've been there."
