Report: Yale standout Makai Mason to transfer to Baylor for 2018-19 season

Makai Mason won't be eligible for a graduate transfer until the 2018-19 season, but the Yale standout has already made his decision where he will play his final collegiate campaign.

Sources told Terrence Payne of NBC Sports that Mason will play next season with Yale before transferring to Baylor for the 2018-19 campaign.

Mason missed all of last season due to a foot injury suffered during a scrimmage, and was unable to redshirt because Ivy League rules prevent a player from doing so.

It's not a surprise that Baylor was interested in Mason's services as a grad transfer. In the opening round of the 2016 NCAA tournament, the Bulldogs freshman torched Scott Drew and the Bears for 31 points to lead Yale to the shocking upset.

Mason averaged 16 points and 3.8 assists per contest in the 2015-16 season, his last full campaign.
