Teen completes half-marathon while wearing Crocs
Crocs may seem like an odd choice of footwear to run in, but for 18-year-old Benjamin Pachev, they've proven very effective.
Pachev, a recent graduate from Brigham Young University, ran the entirety of Saturday's 500 Festival Mini-Marathon in Indianapolis while wearing Crocs, finishing in 16th place with a time of 1:11:53. His father, Alexander Pachev, also wore Crocs and finished in 1:16:07.
"People look over at me and say what the heck are you thinking?" Benjamin told FOX 59.
Benjamin said his family prefers Crocs over other shoes because they keep their feet cool and help prevent blisters. He runs 65 miles per week and said Crocs typically last him about 2,000 miles before they start to wear down.
Crocs got word of Benjamin's impressive feat and is hoping to get in touch with him.
