Report: Saints' Unger now expected back in time for regular season

The New Orleans Saints expect center Max Unger back on the field at some point in the preseason, a source told Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.

This runs counter to reports that a foot injury could force Unger to miss time in the regular season and potentially begin the year on the PUP list, forcing him to sit out at least six games.

The 31-year-old, who joined the Saints as part of the Jimmy Graham trade, recently underwent surgery.
