Carolina Panthers offensive tackle Michael Oher has been accused of assaulting an Uber driver in Nashville, Tenn., police told WSOC TV.

Oher, who played in Tennessee with the Titans in 2014, was cited for an alleged assault stemming from a April 14 incident where he got into an argument during a ride downtown. The driver says he put his hand on Oher's face and then the offensive tackle knocked the driver to the ground.

The ninth-year pro is scheduled to appear in court for booking on May 8 for the misdemeanor assault citation.

The Panthers sent a statement to WSOC TV claiming: "We are aware an incident occurred involving Michael. We have no further comment at this time."

Oher missed the last 13 games of the 2016 season with a concussion and has yet to be cleared through the league's concussion protocol.
