Arsenal and Tottenham have joined the race to sign Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri.

The two Premier League clubs allegedly expressed an interest in signing the 25-year-old Ivory Coast international and will compete against the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain for his signature when the summer transfer window opens, according to Ed Aarons of the Guardian,

It's believed that scouts from Arsenal and Tottenham have observed Seri on "several" occasions this season, as he plays a crucial role with the Ligue 1 title contenders.

A representative for Seri is also understood to have travelled to north London where he "informally" met with officials from both clubs.

Even though Seri has a release clause in his contract worth £33 million, a successful transfer for the box-to-box midfielder is expected to cost clubs around £20 million.

Seri has garnered plenty of attention during his effort to help Nice end its 48-year title drought after appearing in 31 league matches and scoring six goals.
