Report: Raiders' Conley gives DNA sample; legal proceedings to take 6-8 weeks

Oakland Raiders cornerback Gareon Conley provided a DNA sample and a voluntary statement to Cleveland police Monday, Conley's lawyer, Kevin Spellacy, revealed to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Conley was accused of raping a woman in a Cleveland hotel on April 9. The cornerback vehemently denied the allegation in a statement provided by his agent.

Spellacy said Conley and the accuser engaged in a consensual sexual act.

"Her version is not accurate," Spellacy said to Rapoport.

Spellacy said Conley's legal proceedings will be resolved in six-to-eight weeks, and that the case will be reviewed by a county prosecutor, Rapoport reports.

Conley was selected with the Raiders' first-round pick despite the allegations surrounding him. The 23-year-old expressed gratitude for the team's faith in him, while general manager Reggie McKenzie said the organization did plenty of research on him and vetted his character.

No charges have been filed against Conley.
