The Oakland Raiders have selected running back Elijah Hood out of North Carolina in the seventh round (242nd overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Strengths
- Physical runner in between the tackles; lives on yards after contact.
- Competent as a pass-catcher out of the backfield.
- Adequate in pass blocking with potential to improve further.
Weaknesses
- Lacks speed to flourish in an east-west system; isn't agile enough to make many defenders miss.
- Not overly explosive; struggles to make hard cuts. (PFF).
- Questionable work ethic; was reportedly in sub-optimal shape at pro day. (Sat out most of the combine while recovering from a previous injury.)
