Here is a look at the Squad Up daily MLB fantasy picture for the five-game slate beginning at 7:05 p.m. ET:

Hitter Stack of the Day

  • Toronto Blue Jays (vs. Cincinnati Reds RHP Lisalverto Bonilla): Things are looking up for the Blue Jays, who are nearing full health - at least on offense - and they could make it a long night for Bonilla, who has just 44 innings on his major-league resume. Bonilla has allowed at least one home run in each of his first four starts this season, and his 16:11 K:BB ratio also leaves much to be desired.

3-player stack: SS Troy Tulowitzki (53K), 3B Josh Donaldson (74K), OF Jose Bautista (63K)

Others to consider: Cleveland Indians (vs. Oakland Athletics RHP Daniel Mengden), Chicago Cubs (at San Diego Padres RHP Jarred Cosart), Texas Rangers (vs. Tampa Bay Rays RHP Erasmo Ramirez)

Pitcher Breakdown

TARGET — RHP Marcus Stroman, Blue Jays (54K, vs. Reds): The Reds have actually been respectable at the plate so far this season, ranking sixth in wRC+ while ranking in the bottom third in K percentage (19.9). But Stroman is on a roll, having gone without a loss in each of his last seven starts. He's allowed more than two runs in just one of his first five home outings, as well. Roll with him in a game he is heavily favored to win.

BARGAIN — LHP Daniel Norris, Tigers (52K, at Royals): Norris has had an up-and-down season, doing a great job of keeping the ball in the park (four HRs surrendered in 49 1/3 innings), but struggling with control and occasionally getting hit hard. He shouldn't have to worry nearly as much Monday night, as he tangles with a Royals lineup that ranks among the league's bottom feeders in several categories.

FADE — RHP Jason Hammel, Royals (82K, vs. Tigers): The pricing here is odd, considering Hammel's Royals are only a minuscule favorite in a game with a total of nine. Hammel has surrendered six home runs over his past four starts, contributing to a 5.40 ERA for the month. And while the sample size is small, members of the Detroit roster are hitting a combined .313 against Hammel. At this price, he should be left unowned.

Bargain Play of the Day

  • OF Billy Hamilton, Reds (42K, at Blue Jays): Hamilton will never be priced in the upper tier on Squad Up because, let's face it, he doesn't hit home runs or bat .330. But all it takes is a walk or a single for Hamilton to become as dangerous as any hitter in baseball. He's on pace to steal nearly 100 bags, and should add to his total if he gets on base Monday night. He's a low-risk 50-50 option.

Others to consider: C Cameron Rupp, Phillies (37K, at Marlins); 2B Jose Peraza, Reds (39K, at Blue Jays), 3B Nicholas Castellanos, Tigers (46K, at Royals)

Fade of the Day

  • OF Lorenzo Cain, Royals (57K, vs. Tigers): It's unclear why Cain continues to be priced like a top-tier outfielder; he has just two home runs and 10 RBIs through his first 200 plate appearances, and has scored only 17 runs all season. The 12 steals in 12 attempts are nice, but unlike Hamilton, Cain isn't as likely to swipe a bag if he gets on base. He shouldn't be owned as long as his price is north of 40K.

Others to consider: SS Alcides Escobar, Royals (46K, vs. Tigers); 1B Matt Adams, Braves (57K, at Angels); RF Jorge Soler, Royals (51K, vs. Tigers)

Contrarian Option of the Day

  • 1B Joey Votto, Reds (65K, at Blue Jays): As attractive as the Blue Jays stack is Monday, you might actually be better off riding Votto instead of Donaldson. If you like narratives, Votto should be a little more amped than usual with a rare game in his hometown city. From a stats perspective, he's on a career-best power surge and leads all corner infielders playing Monday in Squad Up points per game.

Others to consider: C Salvador Perez, Royals (53K, vs. Tigers); 2B Devon Travis, Blue Jays (52K, vs. Reds); OF Giancarlo Stanton, Marlins (70K, vs. Phillies)

Sample Lineup of the Day

POS NAME OPP FPPG SALARY
P Marcus Stroman (TOR) vs. CIN 12.3 54K
C Russell Martin (TOR) vs. CIN 7.5 49K
2B/SS Elvis Andrus (TEX) vs. TB 9.9 53K
1B/3B Joey Votto (CIN) at TOR 13.9 65K
OF Jose Bautista (TOR) vs. CIN 10.6 63K

Opting for Martin instead of Donaldson and rolling with Andrus over either Travis or Tulowitzki allows you to diversify your lineup somewhat in case the Toronto bats don't perform as expected. Stroman is still the pitcher pick of the slate, given the Blue Jays' overwhelmingly favorable Vegas odds. Votto should be the pick ahead of Donaldson, who's still finding his swing.
