Burns inks new 4-fight deal to remain with UFC

Gilbert Burns' gamble paid off.

After fighting out his UFC contract with a second-round KO of Jason Saggo in September, the lightweight inked a new four-fight deal to remain with the promotion. Burns broke the news to Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting on Thursday.

Injuries scrapped a date with Paul Felder at UFC 208 last February, thus limiting Burns to one fight this year, but he aims to get back in the saddle in either January or February.

Burns has alternated wins and losses over his last four walks to the Octagon, this after beginning his UFC stint with three consecutive victories. Every one of his five wins under the promotional banner has come by way of stoppage.
