The excitement of holding a lead in a conference tournament final may have caused Landry Shamet to forget a golden rule of dribbling.
Lucky for him, the referees seem to have also forgotten at the exact same time.
As time ticked away late in the first half, the freshman guard for Wichita State power dribbled not once, but twice in the key, leading to a noticeable plea from Illinois State head coach Dan Muller, albeit to no avail.
The Shockers took a 33-25 lead into halftime over the Redbirds with the Missouri Valley Conference title on the line.
