A brawl involving players and fans erupted during a junior-league playoff hockey game in New Brunswick on Saturday.

Police told The Canadian Press that up to 1,000 fans were in the stands watching the semifinal matchup between the Southern Sting and Grand Lake Moose when the fight broke out.

The Sting, who won the game 4-2, downplayed the incident in a Facebook post, asking people to not "get caught up on the actions of one player and a few fans," and saying that they've hired security for all remaining games.
