Westbrook: Whether Durant and I make peace isn't up to me

It doesn't sound like Russell Westbrook is looking to use Kevin Durant's Oklahoma City homecoming as a source of extra motivation in Saturday night's clash.

The Thunder's triple-double machine did his best to drain the intrigue from any animosity between him and Durant ahead of OKC's showdown with the Golden State Warriors, saying he's moved on following the former MVP's departure last summer.

"You know, we grew up here together," Westbrook told Anthony Slater of The San Jose Mercury News. "And you know, since then decisions have been made on what's best for him and his future and I made a decision that was best for mine, and that's just how it's been. ...

"Sometimes it happens like that. Ain't nothing I can say about it. Sometimes that's how things go."

Despite spending the previous eight seasons as teammates, Westbrook isn't saddened that Durant's no longer around, saying he's seen plenty of players come and go over the years.

"Hurt? I mean, I'm fine," Westbrook said. "I'm fine. Honestly. Move forward. Things happen in life, man. As a man, you've got to move forward. I have a great group of guys here that I love like my brothers. There's been many a teammate that I had here before that left me, and they’re my brothers - that I still talk to ... and that I don't talk to. It's not just Kevin. There's many guys that come in and out of Oklahoma City that I (have) a relationship (with) that maybe you guys don't know about. Obviously with me and Kevin, it's a bigger stage. It happens."

While they may not be on speaking terms at the moment, Westbrook didn't rule out the possibility of renewing the friendship, but indicated it may not be his decision whether or not it happens.

"Ah, I'm not sure," Westbrook said. "It's not really up to me, honestly."
