Report: Manuwa vs. Anderson to headline UFC London
It took longer than it should've, but the UFC's upcoming London show now has a headliner.
A previously booked light heavyweight bout between Jimi Manuwa and Corey Anderson has been anointed the main event of UFC Fight Night 107 - scheduled for March 18 at the O2 Arena, MMAjunkie's Mike Bohn reported Sunday, citing a UFC official.
"The Poster Boy" will look to regale his fellow Londoners with a second straight victory after leveling Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 204 in Manchester this past October. The 36-year-old Manuwa took his first three Octagon showings by TKO before going an even 2-2 in his next four fights, but earned himself a spot in the light heavyweight top five with his second-round drubbing of "OSP."
Anderson - formerly known as "Beastin 25/8" and now known as "Overtime" - got back in the win column with a beatdown of Sean O'Connell at UFC Fight Night 102 last December after Mauricio "Shogun" Rua snapped a three-fight win streak by split decision at UFC 198 in May 2016. The 27-year-old "TUF 19" winner currently sits in the ninth spot of the UFC's light heavyweight rankings.
The complete lineup of the March event is as follows:
