Here is a look at the Squad Up daily NBA fantasy picture for Wednesday, Jan. 25:

Dynamic Duos

  • PG Damian Lillard (84K) & C Mason Plumlee (60K), Trail Blazers (vs. Lakers): The Lakers' defense is easy money for opposing PGs. L.A. ranks 22nd in opponent 3-point percentage and 30th in opponent assists per game. That's a combination that will allow Lillard to be at his best. The Lakers also rank 29th in opponent points in the paint per game, giving Plumlee a chance for his third straight double-double.
  • SG Dion Waiters (59K) & SF Wayne Ellington (46K), Heat (at Nets): Waiters has scored 33 points in each of his past two games. A matchup against the woeful Nets doesn't pose much of a threat as he tries to make it three straight 30-point games. Ellington is a less enticing play at this price, but the Nets have been extremely friendly to opposing SFs.
  • PF Kristaps Porzingis (60K) & PG Derrick Rose (53K), Knicks (at Mavericks): Rose and Porzingis make for a contrarian combo in this matchup. Dallas guards opposing PGs surprisingly well, but Rose has scored at least 20 points in four straight. Porzingis has been ice-cold of late, but there's reason to believe he could turn it around against Dallas - more on this in our Contrarian section below.

Bargain Plays

  • C Javale McGee (27K), Warriors (at Hornets): The Shaqtin' a Fool superstar has played 27 total minutes in his past two games. While it's not a grand total, he has combined for an impressive 23 points and nine boards. With PF David West out, McGee should continue to eclipse the 10-minute mark, making him a feasible play at a near basement price.
  • SF Paul Zipser (25K), Bulls (vs. Hawks): Zipser has managed to stick in Chicago's rotation, playing at least 20 minutes in his past two games. Though he's not entrenched in the offense, the combination of his minimum price and minutes projection give him some appeal. Atlanta allowed the Clippers to hit 14-of-24 3-pointers in their last game.
  • PG Isaiah Whitehead (30K), Nets (vs. Heat): The Nets PG spot is now firmly split between Whitehead, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Randy Foye. Whitehead may be the best daily play of the bunch. He has played over 20 minutes in three straight and is coming off a 19-point performance against the Spurs. He's been notably more comfortable at home, averaging eight field-goal attempts and shooting 35.6 percent from deep.

Top Fades

  • PG Kyle Lowry (77K), Raptors (at Grizzlies): Lowry draws an extremely tough matchup against the Grizzlies on the road. Having made just two of his past 16 3-point attempts and with no SG DeMar DeRozan for the Grizzlies to attend to, Lowry will be Memphis' top priority on defense. Fade him until a more favorable matchup comes along.
  • C Clint Capela (42K), Rockets (at Celtics): Capela hasn't logged more than 22 minutes in five games back and has only once grabbed more than five rebounds in those contests. Despite a relatively favorable matchup against Boston, Capela's upside is capped if his minutes are limited and his rebounding isn't up to snuff.
  • SG Victor Oladipo (51K), Thunder (at Pelicans): 'Dipo has scored 20 points or more just twice since December 4 - a span of 16 games. His mediocre rebounding and assist contributions are rarely enough to compensate for the lack of upside. With New Orleans' defense sitting eight in efficiency, a breakout game is highly unlikely.

Contrarian Options

  • PF Kristaps Porzingis (60K), Knicks (at Mavericks): Porzingis hasn't scored more than 16 points in six straight games and has shot a measly 16.7 percent from deep in his past three. With Dallas sitting last in rebound rate and opponent 3-point percentage, the Latvian star could bust his slump. Look for him to be motivated against PF Dirk Nowitzki.
  • SF Chandler Parsons (26K), Grizzlies (vs. Raptors): Parsons finally eclipsed the 20 minute mark Saturday against Houston! With plenty of rest in between games, another 20-plus minute game should be on tap. At a hair above the basement price and his minutes trending upwards, there's actually reason to believe again, at least in daily fantasy.
  • PG Dennis Schroder (55K), Hawks (at Bulls): With 20 teams in action Wednesday, there is plenty of star power at PG. Expect Schroder's ownership to dip as a result. The Hawks starter, however, has tallied at least 15 minutes and six assists in three straight. With Chicago sitting 26th in opponent assists per game, a double-double is on the table.
