Hornacek: Rose's absence 'will become clear later on'

Derrick Rose's sudden no-show from Monday night's game will remain a mystery for the time being.

While reports have suggested that Rose's nonattendance was due to a family situation, head coach Jeff Hornacek says he'd prefer not to speculate on the whereabouts of his starting point guard.

"Everything will become clear later on," Hornacek told ESPN reporters. "You know, we want to respect whatever he's going through. We're just not going to comment on it."

Longtime teammate Joakim Noah reached out to Rose following the contest, revealing that the former MVP was OK.

"Right now we don't have enough information to really give you anything," Hornacek said. "So that's just going to have to wait until we hear something from Derrick himself. Other than that, if you want to talk about the game, ask away."

The Knicks struggled without the 6-foot-3 guard, falling 110-96 to the New Orleans Pelicans.
