Mercedes-Benz Superdome to host Wrestlemania 34 in 2018
For the second time in four years, the WWE is hosting their biggest show of the year in New Orleans.
The sports entertainment organization confirmed via their website that Wrestlemania 34 will take place in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on April 8, 2018. The Times-Picayune was first to report the news.
In 2014, over 75,000 fans packed the venue for Wrestlemania 30 to witness Brock Lesnar end the Undertaker's Wrestlemania undefeated streak, Daniel Bryan become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and an in-ring segment featuring professional wrestling legends "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Rock, and Hulk Hogan (who had a memorable gaffe when he referred to the Superdome as the "Silverdome").
The WWE is expected to hold a press conference on Tuesday to officially announce the event.
