Ed Orgeron will begin his first full season as LSU's head coach in 2017, but Davon Godchaux will not be on the defensive line.
Godchaux, a junior defensive tackle, announced via Instagram Sunday that he will be entering the 2017 NFL Draft and forgoing his senior season with the Tigers.
"This was a very difficult decision, but I know in my heart this is the best choice for me and my son, Davon Montel Godchaux II," Godchaux wrote in his post. "Anytime you leave your home and family it's difficult to do, but LSU will always be my family."
Godchaux was a major part of the Tigers' defense last season, finishing with 62 tackles and 6.5 sacks, including one on Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson in Saturday's Citrus Bowl against Louisville.
