Louisville has suspended co-offensive coordinator Lonnie Galloway following a review of his involvement in the "WakeyLeaks" scandal wherein he obtained details of Wake Forest's game plan before their contest earlier this season.

Galloway won't coach in the Citrus Bowl versus LSU. The Cardinals didn't specify the length of his ban.

Athletic director Tom Jurich said in a statement that a deeper look into the matter and a consultation with ACC commissioner John Swofford led to the decision to suspend Galloway, effective immediately:

It is clear to me that the information should not have been shared by anyone at Wake Forest and it should not have been received by anyone at the University of Louisville. Although no one from Louisville sought the information, once it was provided, we did not do what we should have done. The informatoin should not have been accepted. It should have been rejected and officials at Wake Forest should have been alerted to the inappropriate action taken by (ex-radio analyst) Mr. (Tommy) Elrod.

Jurich added in the statement that head coach Bobby Petrino reiterated to him what he's told the public, which is that he was unaware of the leak, and never saw any of the information obtained by Galloway.

Jurich previously stated that Galloway distributed the intelligence to defensive assistants.

Louisville beat Wake Forest 44-12 on Nov. 12.
