Duquette: Orioles have made Trumbo multiple contract offers

The Baltimore Orioles are upping its efforts to keep Mark Trumbo in Maryland.

General manager Dan Duquette said the team has made "a couple offers" to Trumbo, but have yet to finalize a deal. Duquette added that the club is interested to see how the 30-year-old's market plays out at the winter meetings, according to Roch Kubatko MASN Sports.

The Orioles made a $17.2-million qualifying offer to Trumbo that he subsequently rejected in order to test the open market. While CBA negotiations slowed the free-agent process, Trumbo is expected to generate more interest in the coming days, with the Colorado Rockies reportedly pursuing the slugger.

After being acquired from the Seattle Mariners, Trumbo put together his most productive season, hitting a league leading 47 home runs as well as a career best .533 slugging percentage.

Duquette also added the team has received ongoing interest on All-Star closer Zach Britton, but that the Orioles intend to keep him, according to MLB Network Radio.
