The Dallas Cowboys unveiled an "Arm in Arm" helmet decal at the beginning of training camp in support of the Dallas Police Department, and while they did so with the intention of wearing the sticker throughout the 2016 campaign, they'll only be permitted to do so during practice.

The NFL has informed the Cowboys they can't wear the decal during preseason or regular-season games, executive vice president Stephen Jones announced Wednesday.

"Everyone has to be uniform with the league and the other 31 teams," Jones said, according to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News. "We respect their decision."

The "Arm in Arm" initiative began when the Cowboys took the field for the first training camp practice of the year alongside Dallas police chief David Brown, Dallas mayor Mike Rawlings, and family members of officers killed in the July 7 attacks.
