Florida's Christian Garcia rescues girl from sexual assault

Police say Florida's Christian Garcia was one of two men to come to the rescue of a female being sexually assaulted behind a popular Gainesville nightclub early Thursday morning.

The walk-on linebacker was working security for the nightclub and was taking out the trash when he noticed a man assaulting a woman behind the club.

"The girl was basically unconscious," the Miami native told First Coast News. "So I knew there was no way she could be giving consent."

Garcia then approached the assailant and grabbed his shoulders, demanding he stop. The intoxicated man threw some punches before escaping and eventually being arrested by police.

"I hold strong moral values and I don't think anyone should be taken advantage of in that kind of way," Garcia said.
