Allen joins Ronaldo, Griezmann on Euro 2016's Team of the Tournament
Wales midfielder Joe Allen was selected ahead of teammate Gareth Bale on UEFA's official Team of the Tournament for Euro 2016, joining standout Portugal internationals Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe in the star-studded XI.
By virtue of winning the tournament, Portugal naturally had the most representatives with four. Goalkeeper Rui Patricio edged out Hugo Lloris in goal, despite consistent performances from the France No. 1.

Twenty-two-year-old Raphael Guerreiro, who emerged as one of the breakout players at the Euros, made the cut at left-back.
It is Ronaldo's third honour, having been selected to the teams for the 2004 and 2012 editions.
Germany came second to Portugal with three selections, as UEFA highlighted the contributions of centre-back Jerome Boateng, wing-back Joshua Kimmich, midfielder Toni Kroos.
Kimmich, 21, is the youngest player on the team.
France could only contribute Antoine Griezmann and Dimitri Payet to the lineup, although both players failed to make any impact in Sunday's final.
Griezmann still finished as the tournament's top scorer with six goals - good for fourth all time at the Euros. After a strong start to the festivities, Payet slowed down as the four-week marathon progressed.
The greatest surprise is Allen, who played a key role in Chris Coleman's side as Wales reached the semi-finals of a major tournament for the first time. Allen struggled to crack Liverpool's starting XI during the past club season, but he proved resourceful in midfield on the international stage.
Arguably Wales' best performer, Aaron Ramsey also found room in UEFA's squad. Ramsey missed the semi-final defeat to Portugal through suspension, and his absence weighed heavily on the Welsh.
The formation for the Team of the Tournament - a 4-2-3-1 system - was the most-used over the past month in France.
