Report: WWE wants Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, others to return for brand split
The WWE brand split could see several former superstars return to the organization.
In an attempt to bolster both rosters, WWE has been reaching out to wrestlers who are now over 40 about returning for the new era, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports.
Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, and Goldberg are among those who have received a call, sources told Forbes' Anthony DiMoro.
WWE is reportedly discussing bringing Angle back as part of the "SmackDown" brand and possibly having him work with the NXT tag team American Alpha.
Mysterio is currently signed with Lucha Underground, but is reportedly open to a WWE return, and Hardy's expressed his interest before.
DiMoro also names Carlito, John Morrison, Cryme Tyme (JTG and Shad Gaspard), and Shelton Benjamin as potential additions.
