Mets' Lucas Duda: Could be out long-term
Duda (back) saw a doctor Sunday and will see Dr. David Altchek, the Mets' team physician, on Monday, but manager Terry Collins doesn't sound hopeful that he will be back in the lineup anytime soon, ESPN New York reports. "I'm real concerned, no question," said Collins. "I'm really concerned that this is going to keep this guy out for a while, but that's just me. I'm not the doctor."
Analysis:
Duda has struggled this month, hitting just .175 with one home run in the 17 games he's played. However, his presence in the lineup will be difficult to replace. Duda has been battling the back woes for a decent part of the month and underwent an MRI on Saturday, which appears to have revealed something that will sideline him for awhile.
