The Massachusetts Minutemen defeated the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 in overtime Thursday night to advance to the NCAA men's hockey championship.

Massachusetts scored the first goal of the game thanks to Zac Jones but then trailed for the majority of the contest. Anthony Del Gaizo scored the equalizer midway through the third period before Garrett Wait potted the game-winner in overtime.

With the win, Massachusetts denied Minnesota Duluth its bid at reaching the championship game for the fourth straight time. The Bulldogs won the title in 2018 and 2019 and came in second in 2017. The tournament was canceled last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Massachusetts will take on St. Cloud State in the championship game Saturday night.
