Minnesota State-Mankato upset third-ranked Minnesota 4-0 in its regional final of the NCAA men's hockey tournament Sunday to earn its first-ever berth in the Frozen Four.

MSU-Mankato will face St. Cloud State in the semifinals. The Huskies secured their berth by shocking No. 2-seeded Boston College earlier Sunday.

Sam Morton, Ryan Sandelin, and Nathan Smith scored for MSU-Mankato on Sunday before Dallas Gerads added an empty-netter. Mavericks goaltender Dryden Mckay stopped all 22 shots he faced.

Minnesota Duluth will meet Massachusetts in the other semifinal. Both games will be played April 8.

It's been a historic tournament for MSU-Mankato. The Mavericks won their first NCAA Tournament game in program history Saturday when Sandelin's overtime winner eliminated Quinnipiac in the regional semifinals.
