Minnesota Duluth beats UMass to win back-to-back national titles
The University of Minnesota Duluth defeated the University of Massachusetts 3-0 on Saturday to claim its second consecutive NCAAH championship.
Hunter Shepard was perfect between the pipes for the Bulldogs, stopping all 18 shots he faced for the shutout.
Captain Parker Mackay opened the scoring on the power play for Minnesota Duluth and Mikey Anderson doubled the lead in the second period with a perfect shot over the glove of UMass netminder Filip Lindberg.

Anderson added two assists on the night to lead the Bulldogs with a three-point effort. His second helper of the game came on Jackson Cates' dagger to put Minnesota Duluth up three with under three minutes to play.

Massachusetts enjoyed a magical season, winning its first-ever conference championship and booking its first ticket to the Frozen Four in program history.
With its second consecutive title, Minnesota Duluth becomes the first program to win back-to-back national championships since Denver in 2004-05.
