Denver is heading to its third Frozen Four in the last four years, advancing to the NCAA national semifinals with a 3-0 victory over American International College on Saturday night.
The Pioneers will take on UMass - which defeated Notre Dame earlier Saturday - in the semifinals on April 11 in Buffalo, N.Y.
The game was deadlocked until Denver forward Colin Staub broke the ice late in the second period. The score remained 1-0 until Liam Finlay provided an insurance marker with 3:30 left in the third frame.
Jarid Lukosevicius added an empty-netter shortly thereafter.
The loss marks the end of a storybook season for the Yellow Jackets, who qualified for their first NCAA tournament in program history.
Denver, meanwhile, advances to its 16th Frozen Four in program history. The Pioneers most recently won it all in 2017.
