Bo Pelini has been named the seventh head football coach at Youngstown State University.
Pelini, who was fired from Nebraska in November after compiling a 67-27 record with the Cornhuskers, will commence his duties on Dec. 17.
"It is with great passion and enthusiasm that I become the Head Football Coach at Youngstown State University," said Pelini, a Youngstown native. "This is an exciting time for my family and me as we return to the Mahoning Valley."
The Penguins finished the season with a 7-5 record.
