Michigan regents approved the appointment of Jim Hackett as interim athletic director Thursday.
Hackett was introduced as the school's unofficial interim AD on Oct. 31 after former AD Dave Brandon resigned from his post.
Hackett will be paid $600,000, according to Angelique S. Chengelis of The Detroit News.
