Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is targeting next week's game against Oklahoma for a return to action, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.

Ewers hasn't played in the Longhorns' last two games due to a shoulder injury, though he did dress for both contests.

The freshman was reportedly expected to miss four-to-six weeks after suffering a sternoclavicular sprain during Texas' loss to Alabama on Sept. 10.

Ewers has tossed two touchdowns to one interception over two appearances this season.

Hudson Card has filled in for Ewers, throwing for 620 yards with three touchdowns to one interception.

The Longhorns are 1-1 since Ewers' injury, defeating UTSA before losing in overtime to Texas Tech last week.
